How did you perform this function previously?
Previously, we managed the initial stages of recruitment internally—such as sourcing, screening and shortlisting candidates—only engaging external agencies occasionally for specialised or hard-to-fill roles.
What were the issues caused by this
process / approach?
Our previous approach was time-consuming and limited our access to high-quality candidates. Internal sourcing drained resources, while using agencies only for select roles caused delays. Inconsistent candidate quality made it hard to fill positions quickly.
How were the issues caused impacting your business?
Delayed hiring meant key positions went unfilled longer, which created strain on our existing hard working teams. Additionally in some cases, some of the unfilled positions were billable roles, which resulted in missed revenue opportunities.
What was wanted from a change in approach?
We sought a solution that would support our growth, improve team performance, and drive business success through faster and more effective hiring.

How is this function now performed?
The initial recruitment stages are now performed through our partnership with Apache, who manage the start of the recruitment process, from sourcing and screening candidates and providing recommendations. Once we have interviewed a candidate and made a hiring decision, they help keep the job offer process on track through to their start date.

Apache contacted me on-spec and after an initial call, I wanted to find out more. I wanted to work with an agency that valued a true partnership with Dr Logic - one that took the time to understand our culture, values, and where we were (and going!) as a business.
